What reports, if any, have been produced in the last two years for the ACT Government concerning this subject matter;

Can the Minister please make copies of all such reports available;

Mr Stanhope

: The answer to the member's question is as follows:

The statistics you require are maintained by the Family Court of Australia.

See response to (1).

Grandparents who are carers through Child Protection Services are supported through non-government organisations. The ACT Department of Education, Youth and Family Services funds this support.

Marymead Children and Family Centre, and Relationships Australia have recently established a program to support custodial grandparents. Consultation with consumers is currently being planned to determine needs and future direction.

There is a range of government and non-government organisations that provide services to children in the ACT. There are no services that specifically target children who are being cared for by their grandparents.

There have been no reports commissioned by the ACT Government in the last two years concerning this subject matter.

See response to (5).
