Questions without notice taken on notice

Hospitals—bed occupancy rates

Ms Gallagher (in reply to a question and a supplementary question by Ms Lawder and Mr Hanson on Thursday, 15 May 2014): Every year ACT Health reviews its Strategic and Accountability indicators.

The 2013 review resulted in ACT Health changing the bed occupancy target to 90% (while still maintaining the long term target at 85%) due to the demand for inpatient services.

Strategic and Accountability Indicators are included each year in the Territory’s Budget Papers.

Alexander Maconochie Centre—execution of search warrants

Mr Rattenbury (in reply to a supplementary question by Mr Hanson on Thursday, 15 May 2014): There have been four search warrants executed by ACT Policing in the AMC in the last 12 months. All four were executed on the evening of 13 May 2014.

Environment—biodiversity offsets policy

Mr Rattenbury (in reply to a supplementary question by Mr Smyth on Wednesday, 14 May 2014): As per the conditions of the approval decision for the development at Ngunnawal 2C, which is available of the TAMS website, an offset has been established at Bonner 4 East which is now included as part of an extended Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve. As environmental offsets are designed to bring long term biodiversity outcomes, an analysis on the delivery of these outcomes cannot yet be completed as the Ngunnawal 2C offset has only been in place for a relatively short period of time. However, TAMS manages this environmental offset in accordance with the Bonner 4 East Offset Management Plan and reports against Commonwealth conditions on an annual basis.
