Mr Hargreaves: The answer to the member’s question is as follows:

• No.

Roads—Gungahlin Drive Extension(Question No 151)

Mr Pratt asked the Minister for Urban Services, upon notice, on 16 February 2005:

• What is the total expenditure in 2004-05 to date of the Gungahlin Drive Extension project, taking into account the added cost of delays as a result of the legal challenges mounted against the project;

• How much has been expended to date on all contractors involved in the project including those whose work has been delayed due to ongoing legal challenges;

• What is the Government’s forecast completion date for this project if it is allowed to go ahead pending the outcome of legal challenges;

• What is the Government’s total forecast expenditure for this project over and above the $70 million originally forecast.

Mr Hargreaves: The answer to the member’s question is as follows:

• The total expenditure on the Gungahlin Drive Extension project in 2004-05 to date has been $6.3 million.

• The total expenditure to date to contractors is $6.8 million.

• If legal challenges do not further delay the project the expected completion date is September 2007, weather permitting.

• The total cost of the project is the subject of discussion in the context of the 2005/06 budget process.

• On what date did construction work commence on the Fairburn Avenue upgrade project;
