Flags—distribution(Question No 1277)

Mr Stefaniak asked the Chief Minister, upon notice, on 12 February 2004.

In relation to the A.C.T. flag;

How many flags have been distributed since you took office and to whom have they been distributed;

Is there any charge for these flags, if so, what is the charge;

What mechanisms are in place for individuals or groups with little or no resources to borrow flags instead of purchasing them.

Mr Stanhope: The answer to the member’s question is as follows:

Twenty four, with 9 being donated and 15 loaned

List of organisations that flags have been donated to:

-Australian Workers Heritage Centre QLD

-National Service and Combined Forces Assoc of Australia

-Burnett War Memorial Museum QLD

-Ride for Youth of the Outback

-Canberra and Region National Services Assoc

-Scouts ACT –2 replacement ACT flags for Camp Cottermouth

-Protocol Unit, Premiers Dep’t SA

-Merriwa Shire Council Visitor Centre
